AWANA Club Manual
WELCOME to the exciting world of AWANA clubs! We are thrilled that you are putting priority on your child’s training for life by having him/her in AWANA. As parents with clubbers of our own, we assure you that the results are very worth while.
God says, “Train up your child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). Realizing that today children are faced with more difficult decisions than ever before, AWANA provides the biblical foundation necessary for them to succeed. AWANA presents an opportunity for each child to grow in his or her relationship with God and others.
If you have any questions or need help with club procedures, please feel free to call the club leadership list below.
We would like to invite you to attend GRACE BIBLE CHURCH

OUR CLUB
Game Time consists of a short flag ceremony and fast paced AWANA games. Our game time is a unique time to learn Christian sportsmanship and respect for others.
Handbook Time consists of clubbers saying “sections” in their handbooks that have been studied at home, discussing what the Bible verses mean, and how they apply to their every day lives. A section must be said to a leader in one sitting with no more than two helps.
Council Time consists of songs, sharing, a Bible-lesson that clubbers can relate to and an award presentation time for what students earned that night.
CLUB RULES
1. Tennis shoes should be worn for games.
2. At times, leaders will use a “5-Count.” A “5-Count is a slow count from 1 to 5. Silence is expected before 5 is reached.
3. Clubbers should not bring food, drink, chewing gum, or any inappropriate items.
4. Any clubber causing problems during the evening will be given three warnings. Upon the third warning, disciplinary action will be taken by contacting the parent.
AWARDS – Clubbers receive a Handbook upon completion of the Entrance Booklet which they receive at the first meeting. At that time, the handbook and uniform may be purchased. Various Handbook Awards are earned by proceeding through the books. Club Attendance Awards are earned by attending regularly with no more than one unexcused absence per quarter. Sunday School Awards are earned by attending Sunday School on a regular basis with no more than two unexcused absences per semester. (An excused absence is anything beyond the control of the clubber.)
UNIFORMS – A uniform may be purchased after the club entrance booklet has been completed. A complete uniform should be worn to every club function unless it is a special dress-up night. No awards will be given if the clubber is not in complete uniform that evening. (Those awards will be kept in reserve until the clubber is in uniform). Uniforms should be kept in good repair with charter numbers and badges displayed correctly. Uniform inspections will be held during the club year.

Sign-In Procedures
We take our ministry seriously and are not only concerned for the spiritual growth of your child, but also for his or her safety and welfare. For this reason we ask that when you drop off your child that you sign them in at the front desk and that you come inside to pick them up. If you have made arrangements with someone else to bring and/or pick them up, we ask that you send a letter with your child for us to have on file and notify us of an EMERGENCY number at which you can personally be reached on Tuesday evenings.
