Missionary Update            Summer 2003 Letter

Dear Grace Bible Church

Hello and a happy summer to you from Spokane, WA. These have been such fun and refreshing days. We're living right next door to South Hill Bible Church. They have prepared a home for missionaries on home ministry. What a blessing it's been to us, and how special to see so many precious friends so often.

Our older kids and families will be arriving in the next few days and are we ever excited! They're here to attend the wedding of our niece, Amy Vaughn. A few days after that we'll be off to Sacheen Lake for our first ever Schroeder Family Reunion! Then just days after that will be the " BIG" Vaughn reunion (30 of us) up at Priest Lake, Idaho. This has been in the works for over 2 years, so it's exciting to see the day almost here! We pray it will be all that God wants to make it in each of our. lives. With more and more of the kids and grandkids getting married and moving across the States and even to other countries, this will most likely be the last time to gather all of us in one place. Would you pray for us during the week of July 13-20th?

We have finally worked out our travel schedule. Lord willing we will leave Spokane on July 29th and return around the 10th of October. The trip will take us from one end of the States to the other and back again. What a joy it will be to see so many special friends in the coming days. We would appreciate your prayers for traveling mercies and that God would use us for His honor and glory. Our biggest desire is to be a blessing.

We've kept close contact with our brothers and sisters in Brazil. It's been so encouraging to hear how God is working. In the next few weeks several of The Stranger studies will be to chapter 14, where the gospel is presented. Please pray that there will be a clear understanding and that people will choose to believe. The new believers continue to meet weekly. They are studying in Colossians and have found it so rich to learn all they have and are in Christ. We sure miss them.

Thank you for your love, your prayers and your partnership in the gospel. We love you.

Thankful for you,

Debby, Jim and family

PRAYER REQUESTS

1. A Muslim lady I'll call Pat who is interested in going through All That The Prophets Have Spoken (the Stranger for people from a Muslim background). Her friend Dorothy will be teaching her in this study. Jim will be training Dorothy in using the visual aids, etc.

2. Tom and Oscar who Jim is currently training to use the Stranger in evangelism. To say the least, they are excited about communicating the gospel in a clear and non-threatening way.

3. The upcoming TERM seminar on Oct. 23-25 in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, that God will move in a mighty way and that the result will be many people learning how to actively share the gospel with the many non-believers around them.

4. That we could effectively serve in a sensitive way among the believers at South Hill Bible Church and Northview Bible Church.

5. The final details and revisions for the Portuguese translation of the Stranger so that it can be printed. People in Brazil are anxious to use this tool in leading others to a clear understanding of the gospel.

ONLY ETERNITY WILL REVEAL THE RESULT OF YOUR POWERFUL PRAYERS. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE DIFFERENCE YOU ARE MAKING.
