Missionary Update            April 2, 2003 Letter

Dear Grace Bible Church Friends,

Home ministry is right around the corner!  Our flight reservations are set for April 29th.  The lists before us seem never ending . . . so much to be done before leaving.  But, by the Lord's grace we'll get there in one piece.  Thank you for praying for us.  We're so excited about coming home.

A few weeks ago Jim started a new study with a man from the neighborhood.  He came be our house drunk, begging for help.  Jim talked with him and fed him, and then told him about the studies we do.  Jim kept stressing that he would only do the study (The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus) if the man was interested because it would take commitment.  The man kept saying, "If I wasn't interested I wouldn't be here."  He asked Jim to come to his house and pour out all his hidden bottles of liquor.  Jim went with him, but had the man himself pour them out.  We both wondered what the true interest would be especially after the man was sober, but praise the Lord, the man, E.........., and his wife, I.........., have been faithful, eager and like babies, yearning for life giving nourishment.  In the evenings after the studies they sit down with their children and teach them what they've learned.  Would you please pray for them that through the study they will understand God's wonderful salvation and choose to believe?

Jim is also about halfway through the study with another man, I...........  He is the unsaved husband of a lady from our sister church.  He is so interested and has been pushing Jim to come more and more often during the week.

What a blessing it was recently to see 5 new studies started on Sunday mornings by children and grandchildren in the faith.  God is doing so much more than we could ever have imagined.  Bless his name!

Our arrival in the States is April 30th in Denver!  We'll have a few days with Dave and Missy before traveling onto Spokane, Washington, where we'll settle for the 9 months.  Lord willing we'll arrive there on May 5th.  Our home ministry address is: 927 E. 30th Ave.  Spokane, WA  99203.  The phone # is 509-747-5564.

PS - Thank you so much for the $150 in January and February.  We're sure looking forward to being with you folks in August.  We're still working on the travel plans and will let you know the dates as soon as things are more finalized.
