Grace
Bible Church was the scene of a lavish Valentine Banquet on Friday,
February 13, 2004. 104 guests were in attendance. The Collbran Bible
Church was invited to attend the banquet and all guests enjoyed a buffet
catered dinner--Italian-style, prepared by Denise Vaughan of Grand Valley
Gift and Catering Services. The Italian theme was carried out with
table and room decorations, using the red and white colors of Italy's
flag.
Pastor
Charlie Hornick offered the prayer for the food.
Eleanore Mollick chaired the Banquet Committee and was
Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening's program, consisting of group
singing, readings about love and romance by Jeri Doran, solo by Glen
Griffin of Collbran, trumpet solo by Darin Noble, poetry composed and read
by, Pastor Hornick for his wife, Sue, an Italian lesson by Eleanore
Mollick
and a solo by Carol Coblentz. The guest speaker was David Jenkins, a
Christian Counselor with Southwest Counseling Associates in Denver,
Colorado. Dave Jenkins has had over 30 years experience in
individual, pre-marital, marital and family counseling. Prizes were
awarded for the best honeymoon stories, the person who sent the most
valentines, and the couple who have been married the longest - 50
years! The evening ended with bono notte!
