Missionary Update April 2004 Newsletter
GRACE BIBLE CHURCH: COLLBRAN, CO. We welcome Loyal and Brenda May to the RMBCM family. The Board interviewed the May's on April 3rd. After discussion they voted to accept them as workers in the Mission and to serve as pastor of GBC, Collbran. Loyal has served as an Elder at Grace Bible Church, Parachute, and as interim pastor at GBC, Collbran. The church has made some improvements, both in the basement and the roof. Praise for new people who are attending the church.
TRINIDAD BIBLE CHURCH: TRINIDAD, CO. The church began a project to enlarge their meeting place and add restrooms and a kitchen several months ago. The work is nearly finished, with only a few items left to complete. The next major item to complete is their Constitution and Bylaws. Rick has many opportunities in ministry with his ESL classes at the local college. Pray for a potential Bible Class among his students.
GREEN RIVER BIBLE CHURCH: GREEN RIVER, UTAH. Even though it was cold, about 60 people attended the sunrise service, which is held each year a few miles north of Green River. Many came to the breakfast at the church, then about 80 attended the service that followed. Pray for Kirk's dad Gene. He is traveling to Grand Junction each day for radiation treatments. The treatments are causing sores in his mouth. Pray for Paula's service as an EMT. Kirk and Paula have many stresses as they minister to this community. Rachel has chosen to attend College in Sterling, Kansas.
GRAND MESA BIBLE CHURCH: DELTA, CO. The church celebrated Resurrection Sunday with a sunrise service in a local park . The people then went to the Ellis's home for breakfast. The morning service was well attended. Paige is doing well and so is little Caleb. The church was blessed when Jake and Candace were able to visit in March. Jake (who served the church last summer) and Candace were severely injured in a car accident in Texas. The Bible Conference with Dr Elliott Johnson was a great success.
SOUTH ROUTT BIBLE CHURCH: OAK CREEK, CO. The church celebrated Easter with breakfast, prepared by the men, which was followed by a lengthened worship service. The service included a mini-cantata entitled, "We Stand In Awe," which was written by Kim. Tom spoke on the "Awe" of Jesus' resurrection and intertwined a baptism and communion service into his message. Three boys were baptized, including Tom and Kim's son Konner.
The church experienced its largest crowd of people with around 85 in attendance. Pray for the Harves' as they are hoping to qualify for a home loan with the USDA-Rural Development. Their truck, which Tom uses in ministry as well as for clearing the church parking lot in winter, needs to be replaced. Repairing the truck would be costly.
Thank you for your prayer and financial support of our Mission Family.
