Missionary Update Fall 2004 Newsletter
Dear Friends:
This past summer we were able to visit Donna and her family before going on to the 2004 Church Extension Conference, followed by the Annual National IFCA Convention, which were held in Merrillville, Indiana. After the Convention we traveled to Ohio to see Jack's family for a few days.
In August we spent five days in Lake City, Colorado with Sandra's brother and his family. The fishing was ok, but it seems to be harder for Jack each year. Does that mean he's getting old? Even though we live in Colorado, we still feel drawn to Lake City, for its beauty and quite times.
Sandra continues her weekly Bible study with a neighbor lady. She along with her two daughters attend our church. Sandra still plays each week only now she has graduated to a keyboard.
Donna is doing well, as much as you can with two teenagers and a six-year old in the house. John continues to work as program director for WMBI, Moody Bible Institute. We will be with them for Christmas this year.
This has been a busy year at RMBCM. December 31, 2004 we will graduate Trinidad Bible Church, Trinidad, CO. The Rick Thomas family moved to Trinidad in the fall of 1996 to establish a Bible teaching ministry. God has honored their labor, His Word and the efforts of the church family. We will have a "Celebration Service" Sunday evening, December 19th.
We are currently looking at three possible new ministries. Two of these ministries are on the Front Range and one on the Western Slope. It looks like we have the manpower, but we will need time before these servants are available. Pray for God's provision and direction in these future ministries.
It is a pleasure to tell you that the other ministries we work through are doing fine. Three of our workers have lost their fathers in the past four months. This makes ministry difficult, but they have "stayed by the stuff" and God has filled their hearts with His presence. Our Mission Family is very precious to us, and we deem it an honor to work with them. May the Lord send more quality workers.
The Lord bless each one of you for your faithfulness in prayer and financial support these nearly thirteen years we have served here in Colorado. Keep Christ in His rightful place this season of the year.
Your friends in Christ
Jack and Sandy Merriam
