Missionary Update Summer 2004 Newsletter
Dear family and friends,
Kaleb Jasson Farmer entered this world on July 1st, 2004. He was 7 lb. 11 oz. and 19 3/4 in. long. He has lots of dark hair and blue eyes. He looks a lot like his father's baby pictures. We love being parents. It is a lot of fun to take care of Kaleb (even in the middle of the night). We could just hold him and look at him forever. He is a good baby. He is a good eater and sleeper. Usually, he only wakes up once in the middle of the night. We are overwhelmed by the enormous responsibility it is to raise him. We seek to do what God wants us to.
We are working on getting Kaleb's passport and all the immunizations that he will need before we leave for Papua New Guinea. We also need a few shots before we leave.
Something God has been teaching us lately is that missions is much more than just preaching the Gospel. Missions is about seeing God glorified. I believe He is most glorified not only when the Gospel is preached but also when true disciples are made. True disciples are made when men and women come to a clear understanding of the Gospel and are grounded in God's Word. It is exciting to see them take hold of these truths and go out and teach others. 2 Tim 2:2, "And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."
For the next several months we will be traveling around to speak at different churches in order to raise prayer and financial support, so we can be
missionaries in Papua New Guinea. We are greatly looking forward to this time of reconnecting with old friends and making new friends. Our goal is to leave for Papua New Guinea in March. We trust the Lord that He will provide our finances by that time. We are excited to see 20 % of our monthly support come in as we are just beginning this time of support raising. We look forward to see how God will provide for us.
If you would like us to speak at your church, please contact us. We would love to share with you about our ministry. You are a continual source of joy an encouragement to us as you faithfully pray and stand with us financially.
