Ministries
"And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
-- Jesus (Mark 10:44,45)A wise man once said that only two things on earth will last for eternity: the Word of God and people. At Grace Bible Church, we strive to follow the example of Jesus Christ by devoting our lives to these two treasures. In doing so, there are a variety of ministries at Grace which are aimed at reaching out to those in our church and around the world.
Grace Bible Church in the Word
Grace Bible Church in the News
Children's Ministries Grace Bible Church is dedicated to shepherding children from being "changed" to becoming changed young boys and girls. A variety of programs are available to disciple and train our little ones.
Nursery
(Birth - 4 yrs)
Coordinator: Betty Randol
Parents of nursery age children share together in the privilege of caring for our littlest ones during the morning worship service. The nursery is available for any parents wishing to use it on Sundays and during other specified times.
Children's Church
(5 yrs - 3rd grade)
Coordinator: Billie Evans
Children are a treasured part of our church family. It is our goal to reflect the love of Jesus to each child in a way that the church becomes a sanctuary to which they come with gladness and to teach the truth of God's Word in a way that challenges them to live obediently and experience the fulfillment of a dedicated Christian life.
Puppet Ministry
(All Ages)
Coordinator: Teri Richards
The Sonshine Gang Puppet Team is an ongoing ministry of Grace Bible Church that strives to encourage Christians in their faith and to share the Gospel with non-Christians. Puppets are a vital part of the ministry to reach and minister to children of all ages.
Sunday School
(All ages)
We believe it is vitally important that children are encouraged to grow in their faith and relationship with Christ. We offer a thorough education in the Bible to help children understand how it applies to their daily lives.
(3 yrs - 6th grade)
Commander: Alan Rasic
Realizing that today's children are faced with more difficult decisions than ever before, AWANA provides the biblical foundation necessary for them to succeed. AWANA presents an opportunity for each child to grow in his or her relationship with God and others.
Summer Camps (3rd-5th grade)
Coordinator: Jeff Niles
Every year, our kids have the opportunity to participate at Twin Peaks Bible Camp where they meet other children that also love and want to obey God. Camp is an opportunity to focus on the child's spiritual growth, for children to be challenged to new heights, and to be encouraged to listen to and obey God's Word.
Vacation Bible School (K-5th grade)
Coordinator: Sharayah Smith
VBS is a five day summer club in the month of June for elementary age children. Our goal is to teach boys and girls the truths of God's word and to live obediently to it.
Student Ministries
Our desire is to share the Lord Jesus Christ with young people and help them to grow in their relationship with Him. In doing so, they will learn to worship Jesus Christ in purity in everyday life as they communicate the good news about Him to the lost, bring them into the community of the church, encourage one another with their commitment to Christ, and follow their commission to be active in ministry.
Sunday School
(6th-12th grade)
The privilege of bringing God's word to those who walk through the doors of the church should never be passed by. Sunday School is a time in which the word of God is taught in-depth so that those who hear will understand the truth and will learn to live it out daily.
(6th-8th grade)
(9th-12th grade)
Weekly youth meetings are a time for fun, games, singing, and activities. But they are foremost an opportunity to share the Word of God. While the evenings are generally less formal than Sunday School, the Bible is presented and taught to impact the lives of students.
Timothy Team
(9th-12th grade)
Our Timothy Team, a High School leadership team, is offered to further challenge and disciple those who have a sincere desire to walk with the Lord and serve Him. The teaching is more intense and requires homework on the part of the students as well as involvement in ministry.
Summer Camps (6th-12th grade)
Retreats and getaways are wonderful opportunities to build relationships together. Camps are also an incredible time in which a central theme from Scripture may be established and rooted into each person's life.
Missions Trips
(9th-Adults)
Missions projects give an opportunity to minister to others in different communities and are an incredible avenue for all involved to grow in their faith.
Women's Ministries
Our desire is that the women of Grace would take on the fragrance of Christ, so that in all we do and say we will always point to Him. Our goals are to encourage growth toward spiritual maturity, to equip women to serve others in the church and community, and to provide various opportunities and give encouragement for outreach to other women in our communities.
Bible Studies
Through women's Bible studies our goal is given in 2 Timothy 2:15, "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Meals Ministry
Coordinator: Angie Niles
Our desire is to help carry the burden during illness, death in the family, or hospitalization. During these times of trial, the women of Grace have the opportunity to deliver meals to the families of the church.
Encouragement Ministries
Their are many opportunities for women to use their God-given gifts in the area of encouragement. You may have a burden for encouraging others in one of the following areas:
- Giving emotional & prayer support, godly instruction, love & encouragement to other women (as commanded in Titus 2:3-5)
- Sending cards
- Visiting those who are hospitalized, recovering from illness, surgery or a death in the family
- Encouraging missionaries with cards and gifts
The opportunities are limitless.
Ladies' Fall Retreat
Coordinator: Angie Niles
The ladies retreat is a flexible weekend for the women to enjoy Christian fellowship, activities, and plenty of relaxation.
Men's Ministries
Grace Bible Church is committed to men and to helping men develop a strong, consistent, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and to be the godly leaders that God has called them to be in their homes, in the church, and in their communities. Our goal is to provide men with the resources to develop a love for God's Word, to become men of character, and to equip them for ministry in their world.
Bible Studies
Several of our men meet each week for breakfast or dinner for a time of fellowship, encouragement, and study of the Scripture. These are wonderful opportunities to disciple one another and encourage one another to be obedient to our Lord.
Men's Discipleship
We encourage men to disciple and teach men (2 Timothy 2:2). One of the greatest ways to grow in the faith is to meet regularly with other men who will encourage and challenge one another in obedience and in the spiritual disciplines of the Christian life. Our Men's Discipleship Group meets every Saturday morning with Pastor Charlie.
Internships &
Leadership Training
We believe that saints should be equipped for ministry within the contexts of the local church and the Scripture (Ephesians 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16,17). Some will be called to positions of teaching and leadership; it is our desire to follow the Lord's command in training "faithful men who will be able to teach others also" (2 Timothy 2:2). With this in mind, we are committed to leadership training as well as various types of internships to help prepare men for ministry in the church and around the world.
Men's Work Retreat
This is a great opportunity to minister to other believers in our area and to help prepare camp for the summer months. Our men spend a day at Twin Peaks in June for this one night work retreat.
Men's Fall Retreat
Men's retreat is a spiritually refreshing time of fellowship and Bible study. We make our way to Twin Peaks Bible Camp once a year for an overnight getaway.
Family Ministries
At Grace we want to assist the entire family in walking closer with Jesus Christ and developing a joyful relationship with Him. As we nurture our love for the Lord, our love for one another will flourish. Our ministries are intended to touch the whole family and for the whole family to be able serve in ministry.
Sunday Services
Coordinator: Charlie Hornick
It is our desire to stimulate not only the emotions but also the mind, in order that we genuinely sense, know, and feel the presence of God. We believe that the service should be God centered, not man centered. Our sole purpose is to worship the One who not only created us, but also redeemed us through the person of Jesus Christ. Everyone is invited to come and worship with us as we gather as a church body.
Sunday School
Teacher: Charlie Hornick
Our adult Sunday School class, taught by our elders and pastors, is a time for an in depth study of God's Word. Everyone is invited out for this time of prayer and teaching. Sunday School is available for all ages.
Coordinator: Charlie Hornick
The Bible commands us to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17). One of the most effective ways to minister to one another is to pray for each other. To help us pray more effectively, a prayer line, an e-mail prayer line, and prayer meetings are made available.
Fellowship Time
The Coffee & Fellowship Time before Sunday School is a great time to encourage others and visit together over coffee & scrumptious snacks.
Pot Lucks
Coordinator: Teri Richards
Regular pot lucks are scheduled after church through the year. Not only is the food delicious, but the fellowship time is sweet. Much of the closeness in our church family is built during these times.
Home Bible Studies
Home Bible studies and growth groups are an incredible time for small groups to meet together for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. Bible Study groups become very close knit families that care and pray for one another.
Choir
Director: Tom Smith
The Grace Bible Church Choir's ministry is to enhance the worship of God through the singing of Spirit filled believers. Worship is attributing worth to our great and awesome God and is an active response to Him.
Library Services
Librarian: Betty Randol
Audio, video, and book resources are available to be checked out in the back of the auditorium for the growth and maturity of our church attendees.
Dinners for 6
Coordinator: Erma Campbell
Monthly dinners are scheduled between groups of three families for the purpose of our church members getting to know one another better and ministering to one another's needs by prayer, encouragement, and food.
Missions Trips
Missions projects give an opportunity to minister to others in different communities and are an incredible avenue for all involved to grow in their faith.
