Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What style of worship does Grace Bible Church have?
A. We have no agenda in seeking to be traditional or contemporary in our form of worship services. What we seek to do is worship God in a manner in which we demonstrate His worthiness and glory. It is our desire to stimulate not only the emotions but also the mind, in order that we genuinely sense, know, and feel the presence of God. We believe that the service should be God centered, not man centered. Our sole purpose is to worship the One who not only created us, but also redeemed us through the person of Jesus Christ.
Q. What are some of the commitments of Grace Bible Church ?
A. We believe in the importance of sound biblical teaching. We desire to be recognized as a church that teaches the great truths of the Christian faith, while at the same time maintaining fervent love for one another (1 Peter 4:8). We have two commitments: demonstrate a deep love for God and a genuine love for those whom He has placed around us. To fulfill these commitments, we teach God’s Word by working our way through individual books of the Bible (expository preaching), and ministering to one another’s needs in Christian love.
Q. Who are the pastors at Grace Bible Church and what are their backgrounds?
A. Our Pastor, Charlie Hornick, trusted Christ as his Savior at the age of nine and has been in the pastorate for the past 33 years. He and his wife, Susan, have been married for 30 years and have two grown children and enjoy being grandparents. Charlie was educated at Piedmont Bible College and Denver Baptist Theological Seminary.
Our Associate Pastor, Jeff Niles, and his wife, Angie, have been married for ten years and have five beautiful children. Jeff was educated at Moody Bible Institute followed by a two year internship with XL Ministries, Inc in Texas.
Both pastors bring to our community a ministry of passion for God and His Word and compassion for people.
Q. Will I be welcomed by the church?
A. Everyone is welcome to come and worship at Grace. It is our goal to make each person feel welcomed. As a church, we try not to put any of our visitors on the spot by having them stand, introduce themselves to the whole church or make them do anything that makes them uncomfortable. It is our opinion that GBC is the end of your search for a friendly church.
Q. Is there a dress code?
A. How many people have felt out of place because they did not walk into a church with a dress or tie on? The only clothes that impress God, are the white robes of Christ’s righteousness (Revelation 7:9). Come as you are, just come!
Q. What does the church believe and teach?
A. Grace Bible Church is committed to the simple truths that Christians have believed down through the ages since the time of Jesus. Simply stated, the foundational teachings are:
- The Bible - We believe that Scripture alone is the Word of God and is authoritative for what we believe and do.
- The Grace of God - We believe that salvation from the penalty of sin is provided by the mercy and grace of God, in Jesus Christ alone, through His death on the cross and his bodily resurrection.
- The Responsibility of Man - We believe that man is unable to save himself by good deeds and must respond to God’s gracious provision of salvation by putting his faith in the work of Jesus Christ alone to save him from the penalty of sin.
- The Purpose - We believe that every created thing has one purpose and that is to worship God alone.
Q. What kind of ministries does Grace Bible Church have?
A. There are many different types of ministries at Grace Bible Church . The reason for the diversity is that God enables and calls different people to different tasks within a church. Some of our ministries include: Sunday Morning Worship, Sunday School, Middle & High School Youth Groups, AWANA, and Bible Studies. While these are scheduled ministries, most of our ministries take place when one person is burdened for another person or group of people; and in response to the prompting of the Holy Spirit helps them, spiritually and/or physically.
Come; let us worship together this Sunday! If you do, we promise to:
- Faithfully teach you God’s Word,
- Genuinely show you God’s love,
- Openly demonstrate God’s grace!
If you happen to be looking for a church home, or know someone who is, we would like you to consider Grace Bible Church!
We are a non-denominational body of believers; in fact, our congregation comes from many different denominational backgrounds. Our church is in fellowship with IFCA International, yet we desire to maintain a spirit of unity and brotherhood with any church that teaches God’s Word and loves God’s people. To give you some insight as to what type of church we are; we have sought to answer some questions you might have, list some of our ministries, and share what we believe the Bible teaches about some major doctrines.
We encourage you to come and worship the living God. We hope that you find a home at Grace Bible Church!
